NGC 7293 - The Helix Nebula - 170923

The Helix Nebula (NGC 7293 is a large planetary nebula located in the constellation Aquarius. Located about 700 light years from Earth, this is one of the closest of all the bright planetary nebulae. It is similar in appearance to the Cat's Eye Nebula and the Ring Nebula, but being closer appears larger and offers more detail in long exposure photography, although is correspondingly dimmer for visual observation.

This image is a stack of 25 ten-minute exposures taken with my QHY247C on my 11" Edge HD OTA mounted to my Celestron CGE Pro. Images were stacked in Deep Sky Stacker and processed in Photoshop.
