Here are a few pictures of the W.M. Keck Observatory headquarters in Waimea. This is where the scientist and administrators who run the observatory work. Since the observatory is automated and no one actually looks through a telescope, for the most part, only the technicians that need to keep the instruments working are actually up on the mountain. Unfortunately they've been closed for renovations, so we couldn't go to the visitor's center. Check out our tour of the summit of Mauna Kea
