M20 - The Trifid Nebula - 150715

Close-up shot of the Trifid Nebula (Messier 20 or NGC 6514) in the constellation Sagittarius. The Trifid is an impressive combination of an open cluster of stars, an emission nebula (red), a reflection nebula (blue), and a dark nebula dust trails in front of the other two. This shot is a stack of 80 five-minute subs (6.67 hours of exposures) taken with my 11" Celestron Edge HD and 0.7x focal reducer using the Celestron Nightscape CCD. The images were stacked in DSS and processed in Photoshop.
