Barnard 72, The Snake Nebula, 150809

Barnard 72, The Snake Nebula, is a winding dust lane in the Ophiuchus constellation. This dark nebula obscures the dense stars in our Milky Way Galaxy.

This image is a stack of 17 five-minute subs taken with the Celestron Nightscape on the 11" Edge HD with 0.7x focal reducer. Vignetting and thermal amp noise were a problem with this shot.
