IC 405 - Flaming Star Nebula - 241228

The Flaming Star Nebula (IC 405, SH 2-229, or Caldwell 31) is an emission and reflection nebula in the constellation Auriga north of the celestial equator. It surrounds the bluish, irregular variable star AE Aurigae, and shines at magnitude +6.0. The nebula is about 5 light-years across, and lies about 1,500 light-years away from Earth.

This stack of 26 five-minute images (130 minutes) were taken over a single night and thus is still a bit noisy. Images were taken on the C11 with the 0.7x focal reducer and my QHY-247C and processed in PixInsight.
