The North American Nebula (NGC 7000) gets its name from the obvious resemblance to the North American continent. It's just convenient that it's also located in the northern hemisphere! This image is a mosaic of two stacked frames of 53 and 54 10-minute subs respectively, taken over a total of four nights using the Celestron Nightscape attached to the AstroTech AT80-LE with field flattener.
